Cool School:
A Guide to Recruiting and Retaining Top Employees in Nashville

Do you compete with other cities for your talent?
Learn how to take advantage of Nashville's "coolness factors" to recruit and retain top-quality employees.

Did you know there are 92 public parks in Nashville?
Access great facts you can use to draw young talent to our region.

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce's popular Cool School program was developed in 2003 and is available biannually. Ideas for Cool School are a direct result of studies by Rebecca Ryan at Next Generation Consulting. More than 150 people have "graduated" from Cool School by attending sessions at fun locations such as Country Music Hall of Fame, Belcourt Theatre, BMI, Nashville International Airport, TPAC, Wildhorse Saloon, and the Nashville Downtown Partnership.

Due to its low cost of living and high quality of life, Nashville has been ranked as Kiplinger Magazine's #1 Smart City. Today's top talents are looking for cool places to live and work. Now is the time to learn how your organization can use Nashville's coolness factors to recruit and retain your top employees.

At this interactive, informative workshop, participants will:
  • Learn how Nashville compares to other cities in recruiting and retaining employees of all generations.
  • Get ideas for involving your organization and employees in the Nashville community.
  • Receive a guidebook and CD-ROM with materials to use in your own organization. The guidebook includes a listing of cool places in Nashville, as well as materials that can be individualized for your own organization.

The next session of Cool School will be held in March 2009. Continue to watch this web site for registration information.
